Play Club Winner #4 – Jo Spencely: If You See My Dad…

Our fourth winner of Play Club in response to Inua Ellams’ ‘Barber Shop Chronicles’ was Jo Spencely with her play ‘If You See My Dad…’

With a background in the television industry, Jo has most recently worked as a scriptwriter for a corporate film production company. While that has paid the rent, she has continued to write creatively in her spare time and has won short story, flash fiction and haiku competitions. Her short stories and flash fiction have appeared in journals such as Mslexia and Firewords. After attending a ‘scratch night’ in Edinburgh she was inspired to start writing short plays. If You See My Dad… will be the first public reading/performance of one of her plays. Jo is currently studying for an MA in TV Fiction Writing at Glasgow Caledonian University.
