Exercise 1: Writing Relatives
Task: Write a monologue in the voice of a member of your family
Use the 7 steps outlined earlier to shape and structure the monologue.

What skills does this develop?
Writing in the voice of someone already familiar to you will help you to think about maintaining the voice of a character throughout a monologue.
Top tip:
Try to write about a relative who is as different to you as possible, as this will really help you to stretch your imagination and think about how to shape the dialogue.
